STOCKTON, Calif. - Two people are sought and two were detained following a pursuit that began in Stockton on Thursday morning.

Lieutenant Jim Cannon of the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office said a person stepped out of a car and fired a shot at a home in the area of Farm St. and Oro St. shortly after midnight.

Deputies responded to the area, located the suspected shooter's vehicle and a 5-mile pursuit ensued, said Cannon.

The pursuit ended on Armstrong Rd. in Lodi when the alleged gunman and another person bailed and fled on foot. Two other individuals sitting in the back seat of the car were detained at the scene.

One of the persons detained was a juvenile. They were released to their parents.

The other detained individual was arrested for outstanding warrants, Cannon said.

According to Cannon, new tenants were living in the home at which the shot was allegedly fired. Authorities believe the incident stemmed from problems with the previous tenants.

No identifying information was provided on the outstanding suspects.
