Stockton police investigate city's 70th homicide; man stabbed to death in apartment

STOCKTON, CA - A man died after being stabbed multiple times in a north Stockton apartment early Saturday morning.

Stockton police responded to the 300 block of Prado Way around 2:40 a.m. to find Joseph Tucker, 39, suffering from multiple stab wounds, Stockton police Officer Joe Silva said. Tucker was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he later died.

Around 12:30 p.m., authorities arrested Fred Bonner, 40, in connection to Tucker's death.

Silva said Bonner and Tucker got into an argument inside an apartment. Witnesses told police Bonner stabbed Tucker and then ran away from the scene.

Bonner was interviewed by detectives then booked into San Joaquin County Jail.

Silva said this is Stockton's 70th homicide of the year.
