STOCKTON, CA - A man is dead after a shooting outside of a Stockton McDonald's Saturday afternoon.

Stockton police responded to the 1000 block of N. Wilson Way after getting reports of a shooting around 12:25 p.m., Officer Joe Silva said.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, a 38-year-old Hispanic man, shot in the parking lot. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

During the investigation, police found the suspect vehicle in a nearby neighborhood abandoned.

Silva said the shooting does not appear to be a random act.

This is Stockton's 52nd homicide of the year; last year, Stockton had 58 homicides.
