STOCKTON, CA - First it was Whirlow's Restaurant in Stockton, then Capitol Donuts, now it's going to be the Friends of the Library.

Those are the three businesses to benefit from the Stockton Cash Mob, a group that communicates through Facebook and swarms a struggling business to offer financial support.

"I think Cash Mob is good for Stockton," said Lauren Sage, who worked with her dad to get the cash mob concept off the ground in Stockton.

Friends of the Library is a used bookstore, which sends it's proceeds to the Stockton library system and is almost completely staffed by volunteers.

Sage is back in Stockton after leaving for college. She felt it was time to get involved in helping her home town.

"From the four years I was gone, there was an impact on Stockton, from the economy," Sage said. "At some point you can't say it's bad, if you don't contribute to make it better."

Saturday's Cash Mob at the Hammer Lane bookstore begins at noon.
