SACRAMENTO, CA - Thomas Robinson was given his first taste of what it's like to be a member of the Kings in Sacramento.

Hundreds of Kings fans gave Robinson a hero's welcome at Arden Fair Mall on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier in the day during his welcoming press conference, Robinson compared Kings fans to the passionate Jayhawks fans at Kansas where he played for three seasons.

Known as a ferocious rebounder at Kansas, Robinson believes he will be the perfect on-court compliment to Kings center DeMarcus Cousins.

The 21-year-old power forward's journey to Sacramento took a lot longer than expected. His flight was delayed leaving from New York on Friday morning, before ending up in Long Beach. After a drive to Santa Ana, Robinson caught a flight and landed in the capital city just before 11:00 p.m. on Friday night.

Robinson will now move his attention to finding a place to live in his new city and begin preparations for the Kings Summer League, which begins July 13 in Las Vegas.
