SACRAMENTO, CA - The Kings hosted a workout with 6-foot-11, 279 pound Andre Drummond on Thursday, who is projected by many to be the highest lottery pick to come to Sacramento for a pre draft session .

The former UConn center went through drills with the Kings coaching staff, which seemed to take a liking his shot-blocking ability during the media viewing session.

Joining Drummond during Thursday's workout at the Kings practice facility was Jerrod Jones, a 6-foot-9, 231 pound power forward from Ball State.

As assistant coaches Bobby Jackson and Jim Eyen attempted half-hearted shots over Drummond, the 18-year-old freshman sent them flying all over the gym causing many among the Kings brass to smile, including President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie.

"It's a blessing, I work hard to get where I'm at today," Drummond said, following the workout. "Just being here today at 18-years-old and getting ready to be drafted is just a humbling feeling."

Drummond is one of the most intriguing players in the draft. Some critics call him a project, particularly because of his youth. But others feel confident in his natural abilities - the kind you can't teach. Size, length and athletic ability.

At the annual camp in Chicago, Drummond's wingspan was measured as the longest at 7'6.25", which is also among the longest wingspans ever measured in a player. His body is of a legit NBA-ready player and his defensive abilities continue to impress and many believe he could be a perfect compliment to emerging Kings star big-man DeMarcus Cousins.

Drummond's weaknesses seem to be on the offensive end and certainly his woeful free throw shooting.

In his only season as UConn's center, Drummond averaged 10.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, but shot a dreadful 29.5 percent at UConn.

On Friday, the Kings will hold another pre-draft group workout with Kentucky sophomore forward Terrence Jones headlining. Joining Jones will be Maalik Wayns (Villanova), Andre Young (Clemson), Kevin Jones (West Virginia), Garrett Stutz (Wichita State) and Mitchell Watt (Buffalo).
