Homicide detectives said the truck and Rivera's body were likely at the location for a few weeks. They said the truck was obscured from view because it was parked on property that is usually not used at this time of year.
The sheriff's department deemed Rivera's death as suspicious but have not classified it as a homicide. Detectives are still waiting for the Sacramento Coroner's Office to determine the cause of death. No other information was released about the discovery or the investigation.
Detectives continue to investigate the case and urge anyone with information to call the sheriff's department at (916) 874-5115. Tip information may also be left anonymously at www.sacsheriff.com, by texting to 274637 (CRIMES) and entering the keyword "SSD" or by calling (916) 874-TIPS (8477).
