SACRAMENTO - Detectives have identified a person of interest and model of car in a fatal hit and run in Waterford very early Sunday morning.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department says a 911 call about a fight sent deputies to the 500 block of E Street at approximately 1:30 a.m. where they found 20-year-old Blake Berry laying unresponsive in the street. He was transported to an area hospital where he was declared dead.

Another person, whose name was not being released, was also found with non-life-threatening injuries on the street.

Witnesses told deputies that Barry and the second victim had been hit by a dark-colored Nissan that left the scene before deputies' arrival.

Investigators say they want to talk to 20-year-old Tony Gutierrez Macias, a person of interest, in the incident. They also believe the Nissan was a 2007-2009 model year Altima.

Anyone with information or who knows the whereabouts of Macias or the Nissan Altima in question was asked to contact Det. Greg Buck at (209) 525-7103. Information can be left anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636; by email; or texted to CRIMES (274637) by typing "Tip704" plus the message and be eligible for a cash reward.
