Nintendo confirms new Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 characters

  • Video game developer/publisher Nintendo has revealed new characters for two of its more anticipated upcoming titles, Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8 - both for Wii U.

    Rosalina, who was introduced in the Super Mario Galaxy games on the Wii, will be a playable character in the next edition of Nintendo's popular fighting game franchise.  She comes accompanied by her starry friend, Luma.  Super Smash Bros. will launch in stores and the Nintendo eShop on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in 2014. 

    Mario Kart 8's new playable characters include the aforementioned Rosalina and various "Baby" Nintendo characters such as Baby Mario and Baby Luigi.  New course settings include an airport, the desert and high in the clouds, and vehicles include UFOs, four-wheel ATV buggies, standard karts, and bikes.  This game is expected to launch in Spring of next year.

    Both games are currently rated "RP - Rating Pending" by the ESRB.
