DIXON - A baby was taken into the care of Child Protective Services after law enforcement found the child in a burglary suspect's car during the crime Monday evening.
The baby was not hurt.
According to the Solano County Sheriff's Department, a man living on the 83000 block of Pedrick Road in unincorporated Dixon called a little after 5 p.m. Monday to say he had arrived home to find two men had broken into a large shop on his property. He had detained one of them.
Arriving Dixon police officers took the man being held into custody and found the second man about a half mile away from the residence.
The man stopped by the resident, Joseph Paul McGraw, 34 of Dixon, was found to determined to have driven his vehicle to the residence and inside the car was his baby.
Deputies reported finding items belonging to the resident in McGraw's vehicle as well as other items belonging to the victim moved to where they could be put in McGraw's vehicle.
McGraw was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy, and a misdemeanor charge of willful cruelty to a child. Bail was set on $45,000.
The second man detained, Dean Forrest French french, 37, of Vacaville was also arrested and taken into custody on booking charges of burglary and conspiracy as well as probation violation.
