ROSEVILLE - One person died in a three-vehicle collision on southbound Foothills Boulevard at Chignahuapan Way Tuesday afternoon.
Roseville Police Department spokesperson Dee Dee Gunther said responding officers determined the 30-year-old driver of a 1995 Chrysler sedan turned left from Chignahuapan onto northbound Foothills and into the path of a 1996 Ford pickup truck traveling on southbound Foothills. The pickup broadsided the Chrysler and also struck a 2014 Kia sedan.
The collision was reported around 3:15 p.m.
Gunther said the driver of the Chrysler did not survive the collision. The driver of the pickup had minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. The driver of the Kia did not report any injuries.
The preliminary investigation suggests neither alcohol nor drugs were factors, Gunther said.
All southbound lanes of Foothills Boulevard and one lane of northbound Foothills between Main Street/Baseline Road and Vineyard Road were closed until 9:20 p.m. as police investigated the crash.
