Nintendo's 2DS bundled with the Pokémon X or Y video game pre-installed.
Looking to give holiday shoppers another option in terms of game consoles, Nintendo will be releasing a limited-run 2DS bundled with either video game Pokémon X or Pokémon Y pre-installed on the system.
Releasing December 6, the bundles will be found exclusively at both Target (featuring a red 2DS and Pokémon X) and Toys-R-Us (featuring a blue 2DS and Pokémon Y). Both bundles retail for $150.
The Nintendo 2DS system maintains many of the same hardware features as Nintendo 3DS, like touch-screen controls, StreetPass, online multiplayer functionality and the ability to download games in the Nintendo eShop. Without any hinges, the durable Nintendo 2DS is a great first-time system for kids. In addition, Nintendo 2DS is backward compatible and can play the huge existing library of Nintendo DS games.
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y are the latest installments in the world-famous Pokémon series. The games offer a new generation of Pokémon creatures, a new region to explore, new Mega Evolutions and a host of new features. According to Nintendo, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y have combined to sell more than 2 million copies combined in North America since their launch in October.
The games are rated "E for Everyone" by the ESRB.
