'TY the Tasmanian Tiger' for Windows 8 machines.

In what might be an attempt to show that Microsoft's Windows 8 is a viable operating system for gamers, developer Krome Studios' flagship game franchise, TY the Tasmanian Tiger, will release on July 24.  It's been built from the ground up for Windows 8 and features fluid 2D animation and large organic worlds.

TY the Tasmanian Tiger marks a return to the franchise's platforming roots, which began in 2002 on PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube, by bringing with it a shiny new coat of High Definition 2D gameplay and vibrant artwork.  Players once again take control of TY as he and his friends at Bush Rescue help the locals out of trouble with the aid of his trusty Boomerangs.  Explore TY's world, from the Great Barrier Reef to the lush rainforests and the dusty expanses of the Australian Outback, in over thirty fun-filled levels.

The company says the game is designed to bring out the best of both tablet play and standard PC gaming.  On tablets, players will enjoy highly responsive touch controls and non-touch PC gamers can choose Xbox 360 controller or keyboard support depending on their preference.

TY the Tasmanian Tiger can be played on Windows devices such as Windows RT tablets and "nearly any laptop, ultrabook, or desktop PC."
