TRACY, Calif. - Tracy police are looking for the person responsible for leaving a racist symbol on a person's property earlier this week.
Officers responded to a home on the 1500 block of Arrigotti Lane Tuesday morning and found a collection of landscaping rocks assembled in the shape of a swastika on the grass of an African-American family's home, said Lieutenant Mark Duxbury.
The victims were not identified, but members of the family are active within the community, holding public office and positions with the local African American association, said Duxbury.
Duxbury said the Tracy Police Dept. believes this was an isolated incident, but could not provide further information on the case due to the ongoing investigation.
Tracy Mayor Brent Ives said, "Hate crimes and crimes against humanity continue to occur all around the world every day and we will be constantly vigilant to make sure that prejudice and intolerance never obtain a foothold in Tracy."
Anyone with information on the incident was asked to report it to the Tracy Police Department or Tracy Crime Stoppers.
