OROVILLE, CA - Three teens were stabbed when a fight during a house party escalated late Friday night.
Oroville police responded to the 1100 block of High Street around 11:45 p.m. after getting reports of a stabbing, Sgt. John Bruschi said. At the scene, officers found a 16-year-old and two 17-year-old boys with stab wounds.
Police learned that the house was hosting a big party for teens that were drinking alcohol. During the party, a fight broke out, starting in the front yard of the house and spilling into the westbound lane of High Street. At some point, the fight turned into a stabbing, injuring three teenage boys.
Bruschi said one of the boys was treated and released from the hospital. The other two victims had to go into surgery to get treatment for their stab wounds; they were still hospitalized as of Saturday morning.
During the investigation, police developed a possible identification of the stabbing suspects. Bruschi said the suspects are describes as white men, 18 to 20 years old, 6 feet tall, weighing about 150 to 180 pounds.
Police arrested the renter of the home Heather M. McDonald-Williams, 22, who lives there with a minor family member. Bruschi said McDonald-Williams was aware of the underage drinking when she came home around 11 p.m.
McDonald-Williams was booked into Butte County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The investigation is ongoing, as investigators continue to interview witnesses. Bruschi said underage drinking and lack of adult supervision will be a factor in the case.
