Man sought in Stockton shooting turns self in to Alameda Co. authorities

STOCKTON, Calif. - A man wanted in connection with the shooting of a 32-year-old woman and 39-year-old man in Stockton last month, turned himself in to Alameda County authorities on Monday.

According to Stockton police, Dwight Smith, 25, was sought in connection with the shooting of his male and female roommates in their W. Bianchi Road apartment on Feb 27.

STORY: Suspect at large following Stockton shooting, standoff

Following the shooting, police and SWAT blocked off the area to search for Smith, but following a lengthy standoff, discovered he had fled the area.

An ensuing investigation revealed Smith had chased his roommates around their apartment with a shotgun following an argument. At some point during the chase, Smith fired a shot, hitting both individuals, said police.

Police said Smith saw himself on television several times after the incident and turned himself in to authorities in Alameda County Monday morning.
