SACRAMENTO - A couple who had not been heard from in nearly a month while traveling in Peru, were reportedly located on Tuesday.
According to Migeul Antezana, Communications Director of the Foreign Commerce and Tourism Ministry, the couple was located traveling by boat along the Napo River.
"The couple was found on the Napo River at a place called Angoteros. There they talked to the police and were very surprised by all the questions. They finally asked, what's going on and the police told them about all the worry, etc. and they were of course very surprised," said Antezana.
Jamie Neal, who grew up in Sacramento and attended Sacramento City College, and her boyfriend Garrett Hand, have been on a six-month bike tour in South America. The couple, both 25, were last heard from on a Facebook posting on Jan. 25.

Antezana said Neal and Hand would likely arrive at the Peru - Ecuador border by noon on Wednesday, where phones would be available to them.
