'Guided Fate Paradox', an upcoming light-hearted dungeon crawler strategy RPG from NIS America.
Video game publisher NIS America has announced plans to localize The Guided Fate Paradox, a PlayStation 3 exclusive in Japan, to North America and Europe this fall.
Created by the same development team as Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, The Guided Fate Paradox is the spiritual successor to Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger Vs. Darkdeath Evilman - a rogue-like RPG. This new game continues in the same vein with a fresh approach towards the genre with a memorable cast of characters and story, tons of customization, and "seemingly infinite replayability."
As the story goes, players of this single-player game take on the role of high school student Renya Kagurazaka. He has quite literally become a god by winning a lottery in a mall. Now, Renya must travel through the Copy World in order to affect changes in the Original World and make people's wishes come true. One can't help but wonder, however, if there are other forces at work here.
NIS America is promising that The Guided Fate Paradox will provide players with an immense number of in-game customization options including off-the-wall armor, weapons, and so on. Furthermore, the game will feature a random level generator to ensure that no two dungeon crawls are the same. Finally, for the Disgaea fans of the world, this game will also have Disgaea-inspired over-the-top special attacks allow players to crush their enemies with creativity drizzled with a slight hint of levity.
Being developed in-house at Nippon Ichi Software, this game is currently rated "RP - Rating Pending" by the ESRB.
