Rockstar Games' 'Grand Theft Auto V'.
Rockstar Games says their most popular title, Grand Theft Auto, will make its long-awaited return this fall.
The publisher confirmed Grand Theft Auto V will launch on Sept. 17 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was originally scheduled to make its debut this spring, but was pushed back to allow for more development time, Rockstar says in a statement.
"Rockstar North are creating our deepest, most beautiful and most immersive world yet," said Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser in a statement. "We are very excited for people to learn more about the game in the coming months."
The game is based in Los Santos, a fictional version of Los Angeles last featured in the 2004 title Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. GTA V will follow the journey of three characters: former street gangster Franklin, longtime ex-con Michael and "violent maniac" Trevor.
The delay does not seem to be sitting well with investors, as shares of publisher Take-Two Interactive have dropped more than 6% following the announcement.
