WOODLAND, CA - One man was injured and another arrested in a DUI crash early Saturday morning.
The crash happened around 2:28 a.m. on the southwest corner of Mariposa Avenue and W. Woodland Avenue when a vehicle crashed into a tree in the front yard of a home, Woodland police Sgt. Steve Sexton said.
The car suffered major front-end damage. Witnesses told police they saw several people running from the scene of the crash.
Sexton said a 22-year-old passenger of the car was found south of the scene on Mariposa Street; he was injured and transported to Woodland Memorial Hospital
About 30 minutes later, found the owner and driver of the vehicle, Robert L. Williams, 26, on the Woodland High School baseball field. Sexton said officers determined that Williams was driving under the influence and was arrested.
Williams was booked into Yolo County Jail for felony DUI and felony hit and run.
