WILLOWS, CA (AP) - The coroner says California college student had alcohol and cocaine in his system when he drowned while riding an inner tube down the Sacramento River.

The Glenn County coroner's office says 20-year-old Brett Michael Olson died of asphyxiation due to drowning and acute alcohol intoxication.

The San Luis Obispo County Tribune says the toxicology report released Wednesday also shows cocaine use was a contributing factor in the death.

The California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, student was participating in a Labor Day float down the river when he disappeared on Sept. 2.

His body was found seven days later by a fisherman near the Butte-Glenn county line.
