SACRAMENTO - Family members checking on the welfare of their relative, made a grisly discovery on Wednesday night.
According to a Sacramento Police Department release, the woman's family arrived at an apartment complex on the 4300 block of Norwood Avenue around 8 p.m. after not hearing from her for about a day. When the individuals went inside the apartment, they found the 70-year-old woman dead and immediately called police.
Police responded to the apartment and subsequently called homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators to the unit to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
The police report indicated that foul play was likely involved, but the investigation was ongoing.
The woman lived in the apartment by herself, but no other information was released on her identity due to the continuing investigation.
