Deputies: Bogus cops bind, pepper spray, rob 3 at gunpoint near Oroville

BERRY CREEK, CA - Two men are wanted in Butte County after deputies say they posed as law enforcement, then robbed three individuals on Northfolk Road in Berry Creek on Monday.

Sergeant Jeff Young of the Butte County Sheriff's Dept. said deputies arrived at the scene around 10:04 p.m. after receiving a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, the deputies learned three individuals had been held at gunpoint and robbed of their marijuana.

The individuals told deputies that during the alleged robbery, two of them were pepper sprayed, and another was bound, before their assailants fled the scene in a white cargo style van.

The two alleged robbers were described as white men with thin builds, wearing green camouflage jackets and green jeans. One of them was also described as having a blonde goatee.
