Juan Julio Ciro, 35, of Stockton arrested for allegedly attempting to kidnap his ex-girlfriend and threatening to kill her.
STOCKTON, CA - A 35-year-old Stockton man was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly attempting to kidnap his ex-girlfriend, then threatening to kill her and himself.
A Stockton police report indicated officers were getting onto the southbound Interstate 5 on ramp from Fremont Street at 2:54 a.m. when a vehicle suddenly pulled over in front of them. A woman then jumped out of the car and ran towards the officers.
Officers subsequently detained and questioned Juan Julio Ciro, the driver of the vehicle.
According to the report, an ensuing investigation revealed that Ciro had asked his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend to take a ride with him. The woman agreed, and at some point while driving together, told Ciro the two would never get back together.
Ciro then locked the doors and told her he was getting onto the freeway to kill her and himself, the report detailed.
But as they were getting onto the freeway, the woman saw the patrol car and grabbed the wheel, causing the vehicle to pull over. She was then able to get out of the car and run to the officers.
Ciro was subsequently arrested on charges of kidnapping, criminal threats, and driving without a license.
