MODESTO, CA - Modesto police detectives arrested a suspect Monday in the fatal stabbing of 32-year-old Jimmy Espinoza last week.

The victim was found dead in an alley on the 100 block of Melrose Street Sept. 12.

Police Lt. Rick Armendariz said detectives learned Espinoza had been embroiled in an ongoing dispute with 31-year-old Forrest Eric Heath of Modesto. Heath was in custody at Stanislaus County Jail on an unrelated booking charge.

Armendariz said investigators questioned Heath on Monday and from the information learned, arrested him on one count of murder in connection with Espinoza's death.
