AUBURN, CA - An Auburn man threatened his roommate with a running chainsaw early Thursday morning, say police.
Marvin Daniels, 63, is accused of chasing his roommate down a hallway of their home with the chainsaw in hand in the area of Gold and Virginia streets a little after midnight, said Auburn police Sgt. Rick Hardesty. When the roommate retreated to a bedroom, Hardesty said Daniels reportedly went out of the home, took the screen off of the bedroom window and held the running chainsaw inside the window.
The roommate fled the house and ran to a neighbor's to call for help.
Daniels was booked into Placer County Jail on suspicion of brandishing a weapon, making criminal threats and violation of probation.
Authorities did not say what provoked Daniels' alleged actions.
