FAIRFIELD, CA - Three men were stabbed after a verbal argument escalated into a knife fight in a north Fairfield neighborhood Friday night.

Fairfield police responded to the 1700 block of Filmore Street to reports of a stabbing around 10:45 p.m. where three people were injured, Sgt. Randy Boggs said.

A group of 10 people confronted the victims on the street and yelled insults and gang slogans at each other. Boggs said at some point the argument turned into a physical fight.

During the fight, one or more suspects used knives to stab the victims.

A 22-year-old Fairfield resident had injuries to his hands; an 18-year-old Fairfield resident suffered two stab wounds to his back and a 22-year-old Suisun City resident was stabbed in his groin. Boggs said all the injuries were not life threatening.

When police arrived at the scene, the suspects fled the area.

Anyone with information is urged to call Fairfield police at (707) 428-7600.
