STOCKTON - A toddler that had been in the hospital for three weeks with life threatening injuries died Saturday morning.
The baby's father now faces homicide charges.
Detective Joseph Silva with the Stockton Police Department said that the 2-year-old died at Oakland Children's Hospital after being admitted on March 23.
Shortly after the baby was admitted into the hospital, the Oakland Police Department was notified and began an investigation.
The investigation revealed the incident took place in the 500 block of West 6th Street in Stockton and local authorities were notified.
The father of the child, Tushambi Evans, was arrested in March on charges of felony child abuse.

Tushambi is currently in San Joaquin County Jail.
