WASHINGTON (AP) - Former CIA Director David Petraeus arrived for a closed hearing on Capitol Hill before the House Intelligence Committee Friday morning to provide details about the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.
Petraeus was not expected to testify about his affair with biographer Paula Broadwell or the harassing emails she sent a Florida woman that led to the FBI investigation that uncovered the affair.
The committee convened in a secure room several floors below the main area of the Capitol Visitors Center where tourists gather when they are visiting Congress. Petraeus will testify later Friday before the Senate committee.
