LOS ANGELES, CA - Two men have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms for gunning down a teenager in a North Hollywood parking lot after he sent an insulting text message in 2009.

The Los Angeles Times reports (http://lat.ms/SQtcTm ) Zareh Manjikian was sentenced to 50 years to life and Vahagn Jurian was sentenced to 25 years to life.

A jury found both 25-year-olds guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit assault in August.

Superior Court Judge Gregori A. Dohi called the death of 19-year-old Gombert "Mike" Yepremyan the epitome of senselessness.

Yepremyan was targeted after sending a text to his girlfriend that insulted one of her friends.

He was later called by a stranger and told to meet at a parking lot, where he was killed, execution-style.
