MONTREAL, Canada - Students enrolled in a 3D Animation and Digital Design degree program at Montreal's Centre NAD say that the viral video of a golden eagle snatching a baby in a Montreal park is fake.

According to CBC News in Montreal, a statement released Wednesday said that students Normand Archambault, Loïc Mireault and Félix Marquis-Poulin created the video as a project for their 3D animation and digital design class.

Several experts in the field offered up evidence to disprove the video's validity including claims that the eagle's wing appears to go transparent during a frame, the eagle's shadow demonstrates inconsistencies during flight, and the child's body displays an odd motion when released by the bird.

The video was posted across websites and newscasts around the country on Wednesday, amassing more than 5-million views on YouTube.
