NORWICH - A coffee shop in Norwich is putting the kibosh on distracted drink ordering.
Darren Groom tells mobilemedia.com he got sick of having to read his customers' lips as they ordered while talking on their cell phones. So Groom initiated a rule in his shop preventing people from ordering if they are on the phone.
A sign posted next to the register reads, "Sorry we are unable to serve you if you are on the phone. Thank you."
Groom is among other shop owners around the globe enacting similar rules to help improve common courtesy and expediency in such environments.
While cell phone junkies may object to such restrictions, Groom has received strong local support by many who feel rules like this are long overdue.
