SACRAMENTO, CA - Nobody likes getting pulled over by an officer, but there actually are things drivers can do to increase their chances of getting that coveted verbal warning instead of ticket.
Officers Adrian Quintero and Cassie DeLucca of the California Highway Patrol spend a lot of time on Sacramento's streets and highways. Both admit there are a few ways to get on their good side.

First, know all the laws and obey them. Quintero said you'd be surprised how many people can't get the basics right.
"Unfortunately, we get individuals that overreact. They'll stop in the lane, they'll pull in the center divider," Quintero explained.
Another tip is to be honest. Delucca said just 'fess up. Being argumentative is a surefire way to get a ticket.
"Honesty is going to be the number one thing," Delucca said. "If you know what you did, you admit what you did ... that's probably your best bet."
