ELK GROVE, CA - A man was robbed at gunpoint and then left naked at a Wal-Mart parking lot Monday around 7:15 p.m. after a Craigslist deal went awry.
The victim was meeting the suspects after they contacted him about a pair of shoes he was selling, Elk Grove police officer Chris Trim said.
When the victim arrived at the parking lot, he was approached by two men; one of them was carrying a gun. The suspects took the victim's cell phone, money, shoes and all his clothes, leaving him naked in the parking lot, Trim said.
The security guard at the Elk Grove Boulevard Wal-Mart was flagged down and then called police.
The victim was able to describe the suspects' car and the suspects to Elk Grove police.
About an hour later, the Stockton Police Department pulled over a green/gray Dodge Charger and detained two women and a man who matched the one of suspects' description, said Trim.
Trim said to beware of any transaction when you don't know the people you are dealing with. Make sure to meet inside a public place and bring a friend along.
