WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama's re-election campaign is launching the first in a series of television ads seeking to boost support among women.

The ad highlights the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which makes
it easier for women to seek the same pay as men for doing the same work. It was the first law Obama signed after taking office.

The ad says that Obama, as the son of a single mother and the
father of two daughters, knows that paying women less than men is unfair and hurts families.

Republican challenger Mitt Romney hasn't said whether he would
have signed the Lilly Ledbetter legislation. But he says he would
not seek to overturn it.

The ad is running in seven states: Colorado, Florida, Iowa,
North Carolina, Nevada, Ohio, and Virginia.
