GRASS VALLEY, CA - Thirteen people were arrested on various drug charges in Grass Valley Tuesday in a raid on an apartment conducted by Nevada County Sheriff's Department drug enforcement detectives and deputies.

Sheriff Keith Royal said investigators at the unit on the 300 block of First Street found 20.1 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, scales, packaging materials, approximately $900 in cash and a device known as a "whizzinator" which is used for clean urine samples using someone else's urine.

During the search, Royal said a telephone at the apartment of William Folden continued to ring. The search warrant included allowing law enforcement to answer the phone and when an undercover officer did, Royal said on the other end were numerous individuals calling to buy meth. The undercover officer agreed to the buys and several callers subsequently showed up at the apartment and were arrested on drug charges, Royal said.

The last call taken involved a man and a woman who drove up up with their 14-year-old son in their car, Royal said. The undercover officer went to the car, sold meth to Donald Webb, 55, and April Heaton, 40, both of Grass Valley, and busted them for possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment, Royal said. The boy was taken to Child Protective Services.
