DAVIS, CA - Two organizations recognizing top bicyclists and the history of the sport will soon be under one roof in Davis.
The 25-year-old U.S. Bicycle Hall of Fame has expanded to include the California Bicycle Museum. The Hall of Fame announced its relocation to Davis from Somerville, New Jersey, last year. April 24 is the hall's grand opening at 303 B Street in Davis.
The new location will feature the Davis bicycle museum's UC Davis Pierce Miller Collection of antique bicycles, memorabilia from the Hall of Fame, recent acquisitions of important cycling artifacts and the 2009 class of Hall of Fame inductees.
The directors of the museum will serve on the Hall of Fame's board.
"This combined organization has a real opportunity to create the world's most complete collection of celebrated athletes and historical cycling artifacts under one roof," said Anthony Costello, President of the California Bicycle Museum.
