MODESTO, CA - Modesto police were looking for three individuals who forced their way into a home, tied up the residents and robbed them Thursday morning.
Detective Steven Stanfield with the Modesto Police Department said the home invasion occurred on the 3400 block of Conant Avenue about 7 a.m. Three armed men broke into the house, ordered the residents out of bed and tied them up before robbing them, Stanfield said. The robbers left and the victims were able to free themselves and call police.
The residents were not hurt and police said it was possible they'd left the home unlocked.
"There's always that possibility they left a door unlocked. Lock doors and if you have an alarm, set it. Use due caution. The same with vehicles. If you leave a car unattended, someone may open the door and take what's inside there," said Stanfield.
Stanfield said the men, who were wearing dark clothing, should be considered armed and dangerous.
There was no immediate word whether the victims were known to the robbers or if it was a random home invasion.
