SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA - Antelope Road was reopened late Tuesday morning after being closed because of a crash that stemmed from a police chase.
Citrus Heights Police say they received a report of a pickup being stolen from a driveway just before 7 a.m. Tuesday. They say officers spotted the truck and attempted to pull it over, but the driver refused to stop and led officers on a chase that at times hit 60 miles per hour.
The driver of the pickup sideswiped a car on Antelope Road just west of Don Julio Boulevard and lost control, according to Police. They add the driver of the truck was ejected, and suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the car was not seriously hurt. The crash spread debris all over the road.
