The California Highway Patrol is looking for the person responsible for a deadly hit-and-run in North Sacramento Tuesday night.
According to witnesses, at about 10:30 p.m. a driver ran a red light and struck two teenage girls crossing the street at Hazel Avenue and Curragh Down Drive in North Sacramento. One of the two, 17-year-old Carrie Higgins, was killed. Higgins was a junior at Casa Robles High School.
The car involved is described as a dark colored 1990s Chevrolet pick-up truck or SUV with a square front end. Investigators believe the vehicle sustained damage to the front left side. Anyone with information is asked to call the California Highway Patrol at (916) 338-6710.
