SACRAMENTO, CA - Traveling to the Sierra required snow chains this morning including both Interstate 80 and Highway 50.
Monday night a series of spin-outs closed Interstate 80 for a brief period of time. Chain requirements on I-80 this morning started about 6100 feet at Kingvale and on Highway 50 they began at Twin Bridges.
The snow chain requirement for HWY 50 was lifted again Monday at 10 a.m.
Chain requirements also included 4, 48, 88, 89 around Lake Tahoe and 108.
