A Modesto man who pled no contest to nine counts of child molestation involving a child under age 14, including felony continuous sexual assault, was sentenced to 44 years to life in Stanislaus County Superior Court.
Jesus Mario Villarreal, 37, sought a sentence of 42 years, according to the county's district attorney's office. However, the court accepted the prosecutor's argument that because some of the offenses were committed on different days, the law mandated sentences for those offenses to be served consecutively.
In addition to the continuous sexual assault count, the D.A. charged Villarreal with two felony counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child, four felony counts of penetration by a foreign object on a child under 14, one felony count of oral copulation on a child under the age of 14 and one misdemeanor count of possession of child pornography.
