Man killed in south Sacramento shooting

A 19-year-old man was shot and killed in a commercial area of south Sacramento early Saturday morning.

The man and his friends were at a convenience store on the 8000 block of Florin Road when they got into an argument with a another group of men around 1:30 a.m., Sacramento County Sheriff's Sgt. Lisa Bowman said. When argument escalated into a shooting, the 19 year old was hit in the upper body.

After being shot, the victim drove away from the scene to the intersection of Florin Road and Franklin Boulevard, and then called for help. Bowman said he was pronounced dead at the scene by the fire department. No other information about the victim was released.

Detectives are investigating the shooting. No suspect information was available.
