New Kings forward Rudy Gay joins team for first practice.
SACRAMENTO - After waiting for all players involved in the trade to clear physicals, the newest members of the Kings, Rudy Gay, Quincy Acy and Aaron Gray finally joined the team for their first practice Thursday morning.
"I feel pretty good for the first practice," Gay said. "We obviously know who we have here now and I just want to add to that, bring my talents and get some more wins."
Gay will makes his debut with the Kings when the team faces Phoenix on road Friday night after the team hoped he could play Wednesday night against Utah at home.
In exchange for Gay, Acy and Gray the Kings sent John Salmons, Chuck Hayes, Patrick Patterson and Greivis Vasquez to Toronto. There was a delay in their physicals because Vasquez, who is from Venezuela had to make a stop in New York to obtain a Visa before joining his new Raptors team.
"The last couple of days of them being around but not being able to work with them was tough," said Head Coach Michael Malone. "They were chopping at the bit to get out here and start working, so to have our first practice with them was great."
