MODESTO, Calif. - A fire at the Honor Farm Detention Facility in West Modesto was quickly extinguished by crews Saturday afternoon.

Stanislaus County sheriff's Deputy Raj Singh said calls about a fire at the honor farm came in a little before 4:30 p.m.; the fire started in the attic in one of the barracks.

The fire forced inmates to be relocated to the dining hall as crews fought the blaze.

Multiple fire agencies responded to the scene and were able to extinguish the fire quickly, Singh said.

Maintenance crews, with help from the fire department, were able to repair damage caused by the fire; temporarily displaced inmates then taken back to their barracks.

Singh said no one was injured in the fire.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
