SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA - A man was arrested in connection to arson that damaged a trailer home in South Lake Tahoe late Thursday night.

Eric Almdale turned himself into police after calling them and admitting he intentionally set the trailer home on fire, South Lake Tahoe police Sgt. Shannon Norrgard said.

Police and fire crews responded to a fire at a trailer park on 885 James Avenue around 11:18 p.m. Thursday. Crews extinguished the flames coming from the trailer and evacuated neighboring trailers.

Almdale and his roommate were in the home when it caught fire. Neither person was injured.

After crews cleared the scene, Norrgard said Almdale told police he set the home on fire because he was distraught about family issues and problems over who owned the trailer.

Almdale was arrested for aggravated arson and burglary. He is being held on $1.05 million bail.
