SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento County sheriff's deputies have detained a man they say matches the description of a man who tried to rob a south Sacramento bank Tuesday morning.
Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Jason Ramos said the would-be robber at Chase Bank at the corner of Florin Road and Franklin Boulevard swung a knife at bank employees but didn't get away with anything.
Authorities at the scene said between 20 and 30 people were in the bank at the time. No one was hurt.
A man detained on the street was positively identified by three witnesses as the man who tried to rob the bank, said a sheriff's official.
