Cross-dressing crook sought in Ceres bank robbery

CERES, CA - Ceres police are looking for a man caught on camera robbing a bank while wearing women's clothes on September 18.

Sergeant Jose Berber of the Ceres Police Dept. said the cross-dressing culprit entered the Bank of America at 2617 Mitchell Rd. around 11:08 a.m., approached a teller, demanded money, then fled the bank eastbound across Mitchell.

According to Berber, the man was later identified as Leonard Charles Brown Jr., 26, of Ceres. Brown was described as black, 6'0" tall, weighing 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing women's apparel consisting of a black wig, woman's top and a black mini skirt with stretchy pants underneath.

Ceres Detectives believe Brown may be in the Merced area.

He also has a warrant out for his arrest stemming from a prior robbery.
