SACRAMENTO, CA - Two Division 1 powerhouses, the (4-0) Elk Grove Thundering Herd and the (3-1) Nevada Union Miners will face for a much anticipated matchup on Friday.

Regardless of the Thundering Herds undefeated record, Nevada Union will be looking for some payback after last year's 23-7 loss.

This season, the Miners have had some great victories due to impressive plays by quarterback, Kyle Cota.  The senior has averaged 179 passing yards per game this season, netting 10 touchdowns with a spectacular 90% pass completion game versus Pleasant Grove.

"[We're] a very hardworking team and we go hard every single week ... And get better," Coda said.

Meanwhile, the Thundering Herd has picked up some great momentum this season, averaging 339 rushing yards per game. Elk Grove's undefeated season has led to a top three ranking among the division and highlighting some fantastic players.

Among these players is Elk Grove senior running back, Robert Frazier, who is leading the team with a total of 523 yards..

"We just have to go out there and stay focused and play every team hard," Frazier said about his team.

The two teams faceoff at 7:15 P.M. at Elk Grove High School for the News10 Game of the Week.
