THORNTON, CA - An 18 year old wounded in a drive-by shooting in Thornton Monday evening has died, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department.

Phillip Crow of Lodi was taken to a Sacramento-area hospital for treatment but did not survive.

The shooting was at the intersection of North Thornton Road and West Stockton Road in front of the post office, sheriff's Sgt. Mike Jones said.

People in the area of the shooting did not see the incident, but reported hearing shots. Jones said six or seven shots were fired.

There was no suspect information, Jones said.

Friends and family of Crow have planned a vigil in his memory at 6 p.m. Tuesday at 8505 W. Stockton Street.
